WHO I SERVE

Donors

Navigating the landscape of philanthropy can be difficult, even for those with experience.

As a Philanthropy Coach, I serve individuals, families, and organizations who wish to develop a giving plan that maximizes positive impact.

My goal is not to replace but to join your financial advising team so that your gifts may have maximum impact, benefiting you and the charity. I can also facilitate a family conversation integrating the values of your family into a generational, strategically-aligned giving plan.

You may rest assured knowing your donations will be allocated for the impact you desire– and that the stewardship of your gifts will be created accordingly.

The big questions.

YES– say it! If you are reading this far, you either ARE or WANT to be a philanthropist. That word is not reserved for the historically famous wealthy names– YOU can be the philanthropist in your family and model your family’s values in ways that matter and affect change. You have the power, either individually or collectively, to break a cycle, make a statement or infuse love.

But “figuring it out” can be the hard part. You may have reputable charities making requests of you - and find yourself wondering:

  • Is this the right amount

  • Is now the right time?

  • How do I trust the organization to use my gift as we’ve discussed?

  • Will this other charity that I care about ever need me in a big way?

  • Which gift option is best: a planned gift, a pledge, an endowment, or an annual amount?

  • How do I get my other family members involved and on board… or do I even want to?

If you typically engage a trusted professional with your financial decisions, why not engage with a philanthropy advisor to ensure satisfaction within your charitable giving?

I’ll help you become proactive, rather than reactive, with your charities of choice.

Making big decisions can be paralyzing. I can help you avoid paralysis and focus on purpose.  Not sure where to begin or how to give your best gifts? That’s our starting point.

Become a “powerhouse of good” and do what you can to change the world!

Changing the world, one gift at a time.

Over the course of decades in my line of work, I have found one thing to be very true:

People who donate to charity tend to be the happiest of people.

For over three decades, I’ve worked with thousands of donors. I can’t recall a single person who wasn’t smiling when they made their gift. I’ve never met anyone who regretted their gift or wished they could take it back. Giving creates a feeling of enrichment and being a part of something bigger than ourselves!

However, 44% of Americans find financial conversations are the most challenging and might avoid a major component that could lead to a new level of happiness. Money talk often lives in the shadows but can be displayed publicly. It can be awkward and easily put off another day.

My challenge to you would be to define your “why” and start giving until it feels good!

How I Serve

  • Guiding Your Big Picture Giving

You get to live your legacy each day, but you don’t get to narrate it. The world will give your legacy its narration. You can guide this narrative by creating clarity around your goals for your charitable gifts. Together we can create the best path forward for you, your family, and your legacy.

    COACHING EXAMPLES:

    Facilitate a family retreat.
Serve on retainer to handle any and all of your giving conversations.
Establish a personalized charitable estate plan
    Create a multi-year giving plan.
Advocate for the proper stewardship of your gifts.
Vet charities that are worthy of your interests and future gifts.

  • Guiding your gift’s impact

Donating to a cause close to your heart should be a mindful, meaningful process. While you relinquish your money in exchange for an IRS charitable deduction, it is reasonable to expect stewardship to show you that your gifts are being used for the way in which you intended and for maximum impact.

    COACHING EXAMPLES:

    Serve you on a retainer fee as you operationalize your charitable gifts;

Serve you by joining you in some, or all, charitable giving conversations as you make decisions aligned with your proactive giving plan.

  • Guiding your gifts to the right charity

Let me be your guide when it comes to navigating charities and their needs. Need help understanding who the charities are, who they serve, and what they do? Don’t have time or access to pursue a charitable passion that you would like to be involved in or to which you’d like to donate? I’ve got you!

    COACHING EXAMPLES:

    Serve you by matching you with carefully and thoroughly vetted charities that fit your charitable giving plan;

Serve you by exploring your incoming charitable requests and providing you with recommendations.

You get to live your legacy each day, but you don’t get to narrate it.

The world will give your legacy its narration. You can guide this narrative by creating clarity around your goals for your charitable gifts. Together we can create the best path forward for you, your family, and your legacy.
